Why should I use this app?

The app converts old-school scale to a smart one. With this app you can sync weight data on any scale to Apple Health effortlessly. Snap your weigh-ins regularly and be mindfull about your weight trends.

Why shouldn't I buy Apple Health enabled smart scale instead?

You can! The downside is cost, time to set it up and maintenance cost when issues crop up:

• Issues with syncing weigh-ins to Apple Health (not all scales support this)
• Scale mixing weights for users with similar weights
• Connectivity issues (Bluetooth/WiFi problems)
• If you need to use a smart scale which is not connected to your account

Which bathroom scales this app supports?

All scales with a display! This app connects to your scale visually - it asks you to take a photo of the weight number while standing on it. The software reads the number from the image and logs it.

Do I need to buy anything else to use the app?

No. This App is not related to any physical smart scale device - you don’t need to buy a smart scale to use it. Still, you need to own any bathroom scale - old school scales work as well.

Can I see my data on nice graphs and charts?

Yes! All your weigh-ins are stored in Apple Health. Open Apple Health > Browse > Body Measurements > Weight to plot your data. All other applications that can read from Apple Health will also be able to use this data.

Does it make sense to use this app if I already have a smart scale?

Probably not. If you own a scale with Bluetooth or WiFi capability, you should download the official app for that specific scale to track weight logs.

SnapScale can still be used with a smart scale (if the scale has a display). It could mitigate issues with official smart scale apps:

• Issues with syncing weigh-ins to Apple Health
• Scale mixing weights for users with similar weights
• Connectivity issues (Bluetooth/WiFi problems)
• If you need to use a smart scale which is not connected to your account

Can I delete all Apple Health entries written by SnapScale?

Yes. This can be done through Apple Health. Apple Health > Browse > Body Measurements > Weight > Data Sources & Access > SnapScale > Edit > Delete All

If I delete SnapScale from my phone, can I still keep my weight measurements?

Yes. SnapScale stores all weight measurements in Apple Health, and the data can stay there even after you remove the app.
